Commack, NY, October 14, 2014 – Gemini Pharmaceuticals, a contract manufacturer of dietary supplements and OTC pharmaceuticals, is the first contract manufacturer to gain certification under the new RIBUS® Certified Contract Manufacturer Program. Gemini, over the course of 2 years, demonstrated the expertise needed to properly utilize RIBUS rice-based alternatives to synthetic excipients, Nu-FLOW® and Nu-RICE®, in dietary supplement formulas. This announcement was made during a special meeting held at the Supply Side West Global Conference and Expo, October 8-9, 2014 in Las Vegas.
The RIBUS rice based materials comply with the organic regulatory changes to remove silicon dioxide by the November 2014 deadline. Additionally, Nu-FLOW and Nu-RICE are used as a replacements for stearates, i.e. Mg stearate, vegetable stearate, stearic acid, etc., in the supplement manufacturing process.
