What Is Tested In Our Lab

In our Quality Control Laboratory raw materials and finished products are rigorously tested to ensure they meet specifications. As one of the first manufacturers to obtain this ISO accreditation for an in-house lab, it identifies the high technical competence and management system requirements that guarantee your test results are consistently accurate. Online marketplaces and retailers will often require test results published from an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory so you can feel confident that Gemini can support all your testing needs.

Ingredients are carefully sourced through our global supply chain from only high-quality approved suppliers.

Upon delivery, every ingredient is quarantined until it has passed all testing and our rigorous qualifications prior to being released for manufacturing. Identity testing is performed using the latest techniques, equipment, and methods while also screening for adulterants or contamination. All in-process testing and finished product testing are performed using scientifically valid methods which include USP, BP, AOAC and other industry accepted methodology.

What Is An ISO 17025 Accredited Lab?

Gemini sets itself apart by having its own internal ISO 17025 accredited lab. ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. This is important because it demonstrates a lab’s ability to generate reliable results. ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization and IEC stands for the International Electrotechnical Commission. Globally recognized, ISO 17025 accreditation proves that a laboratory has an acceptable quality management system and the ability to provide accurate test results.

Gemini finds that having this well-respected accreditation adds great value to our customers and helps put them ahead of their competitors. Often retailers and e-tailers will only accept test results that have been performed in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory. When the production of your products are complete we publish the test results directly on your COA for each lot.

Fixed Scope Accreditation VS Flexible Scope Accreditation

An important differentiator between ISO 17025 accredited labs is the type of accreditation. Typically, laboratories proficient enough to be accredited to ISO 17025 have a “fixed scope” of accredited testing. Individual ingredient tests are observed and approved by an accreditation body. This narrow list of analytical procedures defines the extent of a laboratory’s ISO 17025 testing accreditation, as each specific test, is individually recognized and identified.

A flexible scope of accreditation aims to define a laboratory’s competence for the purpose of applying its knowledge, skills, and experience to different activities within the lab. Whereas a fixed scope limits what is accredited, a flexible scope instead determines and defines what a laboratory is competent to perform.

Gemini’s in-house laboratory, working with the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), has demonstrated those exemplary standards and high quality of the testing performed by the laboratory to be granted Flexible Scope status under ISO 17025 by ANAB within their areas of accreditation.

For our customers, this further enhances their confidence in the testing performed by Gemini and presents a great foundation for any additional follow-up testing as part of their quality systems.
